books
I've been writing technical books since around 1994. I believe the current count is over 14 - yikes! The following is a list of most of the books I've written. All of these books are on the technical aspects of programming.

For those of you that haven't bought one of my books yet, here are sample chapters from my two most popular books. Enjoy!

This is Chapter 1 of my Teach Yourself Visual Basic 2005 book.
This is Chapter 1 of my Teach Yourself C# 2005 book.

If you already have one of my books and you're looking for code samples, scroll down to locate the book that you've purchased and you'll find a link to the samples underneath the description of the book. You can purchase most of these books via Amazon.com and I provide an Amazon link below for each book. If you've read one of my books, I'd appreciate it if you would take a moment to post a review of the book on Amazon.com; every little bit helps!

Microsoft Press, Amazon.com

MCSD In a Nutshell - the Visual Basic Exams
I'm biased, but I believe this is the best VB 6 exam book out there. I wrote the book to teach you the subject matter, not just teach you you how to rock on the exams. This is hardcore technical material folks - if you're new to VB, you might find this one a tough read.
O'Reilly, Amazon.com

Teach Yourself Visual Basic .NET 2003 in 24 Hours
Feeling nastalgic? You can learn about Visual Basic .NET 2003 with this book. The 2005 version is an updated version of this book, and I suggest you get that one if you have the choice.
Sams Publishing, Amazon.com, Sample Projects

Teach Yourself C# in 24 Hours
Want to learn C# from the ground up? This book will teach you! It's also a handy book for experienced programmers getting up to speed with VB.NET. The content is very similar to the VB.NET book, so you can use the two to compare languages!
Sams Publishing, Amazon.com, Sample Projects

Practical Standards for Microsoft Visual Basic
This book is similar to my VB.NET standards book, only it covers all versions of Visual Basic up to .NET (essentially four through six). If you develop in VB5 or 6 and VB.NET, you'll probably want both books.
Microsoft Press, Amazon.com

Discover Visual Basic 5
The best book you never heard of! This was one of five books produced in a new series for IDG (now Wiley). The series as a whole was a flop and was cancelled while my book was at the printers. So, it got printed but not stocked. This was my first book with no co-authors - what a learning experience! :)

Access 97 Secrets
This is a co-author effort containing lots of useful information for the advanced Access 97 programmer. The book is dated, but if you're still using Access 97 (and you're not alone if you are), you can probably find a copy cheap.
Wiley, Amazon.com

Access 95 Secrets
The book that started all of this madness! :) Many thanks (and many curses) to Cary Prague for getting me into this business!
Wiley, Amazon.com

Access 97 Bible
I wish I could say I was one of the authors of the Access Bible series - it's made a LOT of money! :) However, I was just a contributor for the Access 97 edition. I wrote about six chapters in this beast...
